Where have you gone Michael, Jeffery, Jordan? What happened to some times I dream that he is me, the dream I want to dream to be?

The NBA has gone down hill so much in the last couple of years. I used be glued to the TV everytime the Bulls would play. I was diehard. My Dad, brother and myself would watch every Bulls game on WGN. If we missed a game my Dad would tape it and we would watch it when we got home. Now I cannot even remember the last time I even thought about DVRing a basketball game.

I think the game has slowed down and the constant fouling has killed the once glorious dunks. I remember sitting on the edge of my seat to catch a glimpse of Jordan stealing a pass and taking it all the way not knowing what majestic motion he was going to make in the air as he slammed the ball home.

There is no clear leader of the new generation of players. Kobe had the Colorado issue and in my eyes will never be the same; Tim Duncun is the mellowest guy I have ever seen in my life, Shaq is washed up. Lebron is not Michael especially in the class department and won’t ever be. He may be cool but is he truly the new face of the NBA?

The NBA needs someone to take the league on its shoulders and regain the glory that it once had. I think it is too late though and the rest of the world has noticed. I am almost positive that the flow of players overseas is just going to increase in the coming years as the money seems to be right and if they can get Beckham money who wouldn’t go. Unfortunately this will weaken the league and may lead to the demise of the NBA. Josh Smith was just the beginning.

So my advice to the NBA, make the game more interesting and focus in on the class act players and promote the hell out of them in the next couple of years because soon enough the money hungry thugs that currently run the league will cripple it. Change is needed and it may need to start with David Stern. We will see though. I truly think it is going to be a wake up call when Lebron signs for 200 million a Greek team and the NBA is left wondering what the heck happened.

I'm also a little afraid about the NBA's future. I am still a huge fan of the league and I only want to see the very best from it, but David Stern hasn't lived up to his own hype in the past few years. He was so interested in promoting the sport globally that know foreign teams are signing our players.

As for LeBron, he is definitely the new face of the NBA. If the Cavs are on, I'm watching the game no questions asked. You can turn on a game and just keep your eyes focused on 23, you'll be amazed. The last game I watched was LeBron against the Bulls and I was talking to myself about how good he is. And you also have to remember that at LeBron's age, Jordan only had a NCAA title. This is LeBron's year to grab his first NBA Championship and make some serious history. I wouldn't say that LeBron lacks the same class as Jordan, but it is certainly on a different level. Things have changed in the past 10-15 years and I would still say that LeBron is a classy guy. The dude held press conferences at 20 years old that made him sound like he was 40. He has the endorsements, the global support, and the raw talent that makes any player the potential face of the entire NBA.

The only problem I have with guys jumping overseas to play ball is that I don't see a purpose. The whole reason to play in the NBA is to win championships and chase, and possibly pass, the legacies of the greatest men to ever play basketball. Jumping ship and heading to Europe is only for the money, which makes people like Josh Childress and Earl Boykins pure sell-outs. What are you chasing in Europe other than dollars? Will anyone really care when you say you lead the Europe II League in scoring two years in a row? Will it matter when you said you have more championship rings that Vladimir Blackonovkov? These are the guys that don't have the talent to make leaps and bounds in the NBA and the ones that really don't feel like they should try. Sell out, sell out, sell out.

LeBron talks about European teams; but who wouldn't entertain the offer? He knows what he is doing and its not going to result in LeBron in an Olympiakanos jersey. LeBron wants to be better than Jordan and have more rings than Bill and he understands that only will happen in the U.S. Not to mention, with the endorsement deals that LeBron is getting, he will have plenty of cash to spend here in America and live comfortably.

Justin Brindger is one of the 10 Pittsburgh Pirates fans that still exist. He tortures himself every morning by reading about what stage of the 20 year rebuilding plan the Pirates are currently in. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA but lived in Williamsport, PA for most of his life and almost caught a home run ball from Sean Burroughs of Long Beach, CA during the 1992 Little League World Series. He went to Ithaca College in NY and yes, the Gorges are awesome. He started his business career trading baseball cards at the Dixie Baseball Card Shop, and thought he made some great decisions with Barry Bonds rookie cards only to find out 20 years later that the dude was on roids and the cards were not going to pay for his fiancée's engagement ring after all.
