Last night the Washington Capitals absolutely decimated the New York Rangers. The Caps also scored twice on the best penalty killing team in the league. Did they win? No. If you ask me Jose Theodore needs to take all the blame for this unacceptable loss. Theodore gave up four goals to the Drury-less Rangers and one remembered goal was the Gomez goal that glanced off Theodore’s glove. It is time to implement Simeon Varlamov, the 20 year old Russian is an absolute stud in goal. He has some learning to do and it may be the playoffs but obviously the Capitals cannot raise Lord Stanley’s Cup with Theodore in goal.

Varlamov has really validated this suggestion.
I totally agree with your statement. I wonder if the Caps dominated the Rangers so much and smothered them that Theo was taken out of the game. It seemed like the entire game was played on the Rangers side of the ice.
The V-Man looked much better in net so I think the Caps should go with him in Game 3. The Caps just need to get people in front of Lundquist and they will be fine. The Caps confidence is shot right now, but all they need to get it back is a win. If they win Game 3, I think they take the series in 7.
