Matchup- New York @ Baltimore

Location- Camden Yards

Series- 3 game ORIOLES win 2-1

Even though it is still very early and when we look back at the big picture by say August or September yesterday's win won't mean anything. But for the short term mental health and success of this team yesterday was crucial. Three things happened:

1. Burnett showed his great stuff off. If he is healthy then he is worth every penny they payed him and then some.

2. Tex and Swisher got there bats going. In the battle for who should be the every day right fielder 1up to Swish. Also my boy Robby Cano is hitting a sizzling .545!!!

3. The bullpen had a nice strong outing. I really like what Coke can bring. His breaking ball seems dominant against lefties.

If the folks at Oriole Park were allowed to get out the broomsticks then can you imagine the headlines and back page stories in the New York papers calling for everyones head on a platter. It was bad enough C.C. looked terrible and questions arose about his health postgame. Couple that with the fact that Wang looked very hittable and through two games neither of our starters had a strikeout. I was ready to delare a National emergency! But the Yanks showed what they are yesterday ,which is a tough veteran hitting club that can wear out a pitching staff and bullpen in a series and eventually make them crack. They wore down the orioles starter and then feasted on the bullpen.

Obviously this series was a failure as they lost it 2-1. But at least they can hit the road with some momentum as they continue this grueling road trip to start the season. Doesn't anybody else really want the Yanks to get home so we can check out this new stadium. I don't live in New York and havent seen much but a few photos so I cant wait to see how it looks.

Prediction for upcoming series: Yankees win series 2-1 over Royals. They key at this point in the season is to stay healthy and be within striking distance of both Rays and Sox and wait for the best hitter in the American league to return.
