Re: Can cardio exercises build muscles?

Well it depends on what exercises you are doing as long distance requires something different from your muscles than shorter distances bigger muscles help with speed but big muscles.

Swimmers often have bug muscles because you have to go against the force of the water and its harder swimming than running.

Re: Can cardio exercises build muscles?

To a certain extent and depending upon the type of cardio used it will develop muscle however you need PROGRESSIVE OVERLOAD to keep building the muscle up. Weightlifting will increase muscle more than cardio as it is easier to progressively overload the muscle. However I recommend at least 30-45 minutes of cardio 6 days a week as it increases endurance (thus aids weightlifting) and reduces fat gain if you are on a calorie surplus in an effort to gain muscle.
