Topic: Prevent osteoporosis in later life with diet
What you eat now (whilst your young) is very important i have just been reading some articles of how eating an acidic diet can be bad for you and your bones in later life. Your stomach must keep a certain pH value to digest food this value cannot be to acidic or to alkaline. If you eat foods that cause this pH level to become to acidic ie lemon, vinegar are examples of acidic substances then your body must correct this by using the mineral reserves found in the bones. This can have implications such as low bone density and can weaken your bones and cause osteoporosis. Scary. But that why eating a healthy diet is key. Remember prevention is better than the cure!
